LuxStyle / LuxGroup (snoring pills, hair removers, gambling ads) - scam?


LuxStyle.no is a valid Norwegian domain. So it appears to be more legit than the common scam. However, this domain is owned by a Danish company. They have a website at luxgroup.com where you can access the local sites easily.

I will not go as far as calling this a SCAM. I don't have enough proof to support that. However, it's definitely not a serious company. Why? Well, they don't show you that you are on a secure website. You normally see a padlock next to the website address if you are on a secure site. There was no indication in my browser that I was about to send my credit card information on a secure connection. All serious internet shops should show you that you are on a secure site. Despite this, they ARE in fact sending your credit card information over a secure socket "under the hood". But the normal customer can not know this and should only deal with websites that have the credit card information form with the padlock showing by the address bar. Otherwise it's too easy to trick/scam people.

However... I could say a few more things.

Once I had picked my products and went to the cart, I had to go through 6-7 steps of deciding whether I wanted to buy 5-6 other products as well. Hair removers ("LuxSmooth"), fake eyelashes ("QuickMax"), snoring pills ("Snore Killer"), facial mask ("Blackhead Killer"), detox bandages, a product to get rid of "skin worms". Snoring pills? Just ask at your pharmacy, if they don't have it, you should not be eating them.


When I finished the order, they had an ad for an online casino. This is not legal on Norwegian web sites. Again, no serious online shop would have illegal advertisements like this.

I assume all products are sent from a different country than yours, probably from Denmark. This means that you most likely has to pay additional fees when you get the shipment (VAT etc.)

On their web sites they have 4 "user reviews". However, these people are not identified with full names. They are not connected with Facebook either, so anyone could have written these reviews.

My overall judgement: Not a scam (unless the products doesn't work as advertised, which I know nothing about), but semi-legit and not serious enough. I would not recommend it at this time. The owners of this shop should get their own SSL certificate and use it on their web site so that people can see that it's secure, remove their gambling ads, have more believable reviews, possibly an official Facebook page so that you can see what other people are saying about this company.

  1. I've been scammed by them too, they keep sending me products I have never ordered and they say the only way to cancel the order is to get a police report. Moreover they do not provide telephone numbers or last names. They are scary. PLease do not order anything from them.

I just received a email from them saying my order was received, GUESS WHAT I never order from them I looked at the product but did not give ant of my information I am really scared now can they get my credit card info and process this order without my permission?I don't even recall giving my address or name just my email. I emailed them and told them I didn't order anything is there anyway I can protect myself from these guys???HELP NEVER ORDERED

I have be scammed by Quickmax Lux style...the advertise on face book, I just have a look and never completed the order...and they send it to me...I did not give them my credit..but the send me invoice and a letter threatening me with legal costs....I email them and told me I am subscribed for one year...I told them i would seek legal advice and stop sending me the packages...Thanks Elsa Alvial

  4. I've just received quickmax eyelash enhancer, i didnt even pay for it, and i received invoice too. They've asked me to do a police report. And they said if i haven't ordered i should post it back to them , but where am i suppose to post it back, they have no address. can anybody please help me.

    I am also another one of their victim...
    I have already email them and they mention to get a police report in order for them to stop the invoice.
    Do any of u file for a police report and whats the outcome? Did they stop billing u?

  6. I put some of their products in my 'cart' but did not complete the order. I was sent the products with an invoice. It will cost more to return the products with tracking, than pay the invoice but what it comes down to is that I DID NOT order the items, yet they sent them anyway.

  7. it happen to me the same thing. just last night i received an email saying the product will be ship as soon as possible i surprised as i did not continue the payment process as i felt something is wrong so i go back and decide not continue till i received the email. I email them back and cancel the order. what shall i do now if the product has been sent to my place shall i accept it or refuse to take it? anyone please help

  8. I am in the middle of the same thing right now. I have emailed them saying I did not order and will not be paying and they just keep emailing me with threats the same as you. How do we stop this happening? I dont want to have to pay for legal advice. What if they don't stop emailing? Should I just block their email? Thanks for any advice.

  9. i have just recieved a email saying my invoice is being shipped out , when i did not order anything from them! They have my address and are telling me to pay within 14 days of the invoice. What do i do !!!!! I dont want the product .

  10. Just happened to me, thought I was getting two for the price of one thing with that eyelash lengthening product and I pulled out but somehow they were able to send me the product, no return address....strange

  13. Please report them to the Danish consumer ombudsman! http://www.consumerombudsman.dk/About-us/Contact-us

    As per the Danish law, they are not entitled to sell goods without a proper sell contract which consists in, for minimum clicking on an "accept" or "confirm order" button. See article #6: http://www.consumerombudsman.dk/Regulatory-framework/dcoguides/Internet-Commerce-and-Marketing#SYV

    Since nobody here clicked some «confirm order» button, this confirms they illegally send goods to people intentionally in the hope that you pay for it.

  15. I have never ordered this product and they claim I did..all I did was give them my email address as I thought I was getting updates on products...THEY SENT ME EYE LASH PRODUCT I NEVER WANTED AND NOW THEY WANT OAYMENT...THEY ARE SCAMMERS STAY AWAY..I AM CONTACTING MY LAWYER...

  17. I have experienced the same. I was browsing on websites through Facebook to see what is the product and the cost. And GUESS what they send me a product I've never ordered, apparently once you look at the product you are immediately seen as a buyer (big bullocks). Never ever a serious online shop will do so. However, they keep asking me to pay the invoice as they won't sent a prepaid envelope to return the product or report it as a crime. So, I assume I shall look for legal advise as they are stubborn and ignorant.

  18. This is one of the number one Scams run by the internet. People are being forced to buy just by adding the item to the cart. What they do is they don't provide the price of the item first. Instead they ask your details to fill in & add the item to the cart before they inform the price. Once you do, they inform the price & in case if you decide to back off from the deal, it's way too late. They ship the item to your address & send an invoice to your address forcing you to buy. If you don't they threat you to take send our details to credit collecters and charge you extra saying' late payments' PEOPLE PLEASE DON'T EVEN GO TO THIS SITE. I had to return the item costing you for something I did not order in the first place.

  20. i'm having same problem.I just click their link from facebook and never completed the form but they said they send out the order and now they are threatening me tru from email that will send debt collector or law suit.
    so far anyone solved the case here ? please advice me.
    i'm thinking about making police report .

  21. This company sent me a thing ( I say thing because I never opened the envelope, still!) Once they sent me a shipment e-mail I sent them an e-mail back sayimg that I did not order anything so do not send me the item but said because I went on an instagram ad I automatically ordered the item! I did not! Anyway they sent me the "thing" and now threatining me to pay the invoice which is £45. I said they should send me a prepaid envelope ao I can send the "thing" back but they refused me I also sent them the pictures of the unopened envelope and they said they would not accept the return because the return period was over!! They are big SCAM!!!

  22. HAS ANYONE ACTUALLY HAD DEBT COLLECTORS PUT ONTO THEM THOUGH?

    Same storY here, I told them not to send me product, they did, now they are threatening me, but how are these fucks supposed to get money from me? I am in NZ, so who are they going to collect this money? Plus I have email correspondence telling them no to ship product, and them going, ok

  23. Same here, I received the eyelash serum after 'looking' at it online through Facebook. I went to pay the my as I thought I'd better pay then argue later. It brought up my invoice with an extra £10 charge! Now it's at £75.00 from £55. Can they actually do anything about me refusing to pay for something I didn't order. I don't want it to effect my credit rating but I'm refusing to pay for something I didn't order. Can anyone shed any light please ??!!

  25. i'm having same problem im in australia. I have contacted consumer affairs and also contacting Police department and my bank to see if they can advise me on what to do. Ive also let Facebook know as I did not order anythinh from this company.

  26. Any advises how to deal with it? Apparently to return you need to pay for return shipment, which is nonesense as I did not order it in the first place. Any advises, perhaps to report them to somewhere ? I certainly dont want to have issues with debt collectors

  27. The same thing happened to me I just click their FB advertisement and initially I intend to buy the product so the first step is that you need to register. Afterwards the price came up and its expensive and didn't proceed after a few days the parcel came with the product which I didn't order and just now I receive a reminder letter that I need to pay together with the late payment charge SGD59.85 this is ridiculous I need to pay on the product which I didn't order in the first place. Can someone help me how to stop this. Thanks

  28. You do not do anything. If you did not explicitly order it and still receive a product, you do not have to do anything. It is EU law that this is not a sale agreement ( look up laws around shopping online). You do nothing at all, you do not reply to the email, just refer it to spam. And as for the product you receive, either toss it out or try it for free?

    In relation to your complaint we can inform you that the Danish Consumer Ombudsman has already commenced a general case against the company regarding its business practices. Consequently, we will not pursue your complaint on an individual basis, but include it in the current case material.

    We can refer you to Directive 2011/83/EC on Consumer Rights, which is also implemented in UK legislation. Article 8(2) of the Directive - regarding “Formal requirements for distance contracts”- implies that the trader has to ensure that the consumer, when placing his or her order, explicitly acknowledges that the order implies an obligation to pay. If placing an order entails activating a button or a similar function, it has to be labelled in an easily readable manner with the words ‘order with obligation to pay’ or a corresponding unambiguous formulation indicating that placing the order entails an obligation to pay the trader. If the trader has not complied with this requirement, the consumer is not bound by the contract or order, cf. article 8, section 2, last sentence.

    1) Ignore their emails. Its a scare tactic

    2) Send an email to FORBRUGEROMBUDSMANDEN@kfst.dk They assist with consumer issues. The more emails they get the better. (mine was a rough email, but make your email as detailed as you can).

    Below is an example to what I wrote.

    I am emailing from New Zealand.

    I would like to submit a complaint for company:

    They have sent me items that I have not requested. I have sent these items back however I am continuously getting emails from them threatening to take legal action.

    This site is a scam, and their continuous emails are borderline harassment. I have not entered any agreement with this company.

  33. I've been getting email after email from these aswell when I've never heard of them! So never ordered from them? And have never had any products come to my house either yet trying to threaten me with dept collections for £79! There ain't no cosmetic product I'd pay that for for starters! Told them this and they said they will continue to email me invoices and with the dept collection unless I report fraud to police and send them a copy of it! Someone using my name there saying?

  38. For all victims, please do not send the product back with your own cost, do not pay the item that you don't want to buy and just ignored all letters or email that they sent. Don't be panic. I have to report all consumers protect center and local police. the police asked me to contact them to send prepaid postage to get their item back. since they are ignored to do that. we could dispose the item. I have contact a lot of victims. they will be away when they don't get anything from us. They will try to disturb you. they could not do anything other than that. just ignored it. They could not do anything with Law firm. That's why right now they are tying to give the free sample for people to give them a good comment on TrustPilot. Hope this information is helpful for everyone.
