I got this today, from supposedly "apple" (not Apple), service@apple.com via gator673.hostgator.com (the fact that it was via hostgator.com was the first sign that this was not authentic)
"Dear Apple Customer,
This is a scam. The link you go to when clicking "Verify Now" is not going to apple.com but you end up at http://id.apple.com.verify.information.cmd.login.submit.dispatch1q2w33s3f5g6h7.greapm.com.br or something like that. At first glance it might look like a real apple URL because it starts with id.apple.com, but as you can see it continues with a bunch of other stuff and at the end you see that it contains "greapm.com.br", so this site is not on apple.com at all! This an old trick by internet scammers.
Why do they do this? Well, they want you to enter your apple ID on their website, which looks exactly like Apple's web site. They've just copied Apple's look. You must not enter your information here, because you will send it to the scammers instead of Apple. And then they get access to your apple account.
After giving away your account information, they will ask you to verify your creditcard information. Of course, if you do this, they will get access to your credit card information and they will be able to use your card online. They can pretty much take all the money they can possibly get from that card.
This is a very clever scam and I too thought it looked very real. So to help others to not do this mistake, please share it to your friends on social networks to help create awareness of this. I'm not sure how many people have received this email, but there is a great chance that a lot of people might get tricked by this one.
Did you already give up your apple ID password and/or your creditcard details? Change your password asap and block your card!
A failure to Verify your information may result on a suspension of your account. To Verify your Apple ID information click on the following link:
